Burberry by Christoper Bailey

Burberry has relocated his head office to Horseferry House, the 13th-Century building situated in the heart of Westminster, London, which used to house the British parliament.

‘The new location allows all of our London employees (850 in total) to work together in one location. The space helps to unite the culture, improve communications and purify the brand,’ says chief executive Angela Ahrendts.

Creative director Christopher Bailey led the design of the interior that evokes a typically British atmosphere with dark oak, trench lacquer and polished black chrome dominating the design. ‘This office became a bit of a labour of love for me, explains Bailey. ‘Horseferry House is so much more than a building. It’s very symbolic of the company. I wanted to unify the creativity and the dynamic attitude of all the employees that are driving this company forward.’

The new building, totalling 160,000 sq ft over eight floors, comprises show rooms, modern contemporary office spaces together with the original architectural features of the 1930s building.
